Acceptable Use Policy for Something

Version 0.1 · Last updated 30 October 2026 ·

Draft. For review by BAARS DESIGN and its lawyer before publication. Not legal advice.

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It is short because Something runs on your Mac and works on your own code. Most of what you do with it is between you, your repositories and your AI provider.

What you may not do

Do not use Something, its accounts, teams, or servers to:

  1. Break the law, or help someone else break it.
  2. Access what is not yours. Only open repositories and send pull requests to repositories you have permission to change. Do not use the app to get around a repository’s branch protections, review requirements or access controls.
  3. Share a seat. One editor seat is for one named person. Reassign seats; do not pool them.
  4. Work around the plan checks in the app, or help others do so. The app does not use DRM; we rely on you to pay for what you use.
  5. Attack our services. No scanning, flooding, credential stuffing, or probing of our sign-in, billing or team servers beyond normal use. If you find a security problem, tell us at [security@baars.design] and we will thank you, not sue you.
  6. Abuse the trial. One 14-day Team trial per organisation and per GitHub login. Creating accounts to repeat it is abuse.
  7. Misuse invites and the contact form. No spam, no harassment, no impersonation.
  8. Resell or redistribute the app or your access to it.
  9. Harm others with AI output. You are responsible for what you send to your AI provider and for what you merge into your product. Follow your AI provider’s usage policies.

Our response

If we see or are told of misuse, we may warn you, suspend the account or organisation, or end the contract, as described in the Terms. Where reasonable, we warn first. We do not inspect your projects; we cannot, because they never reach us. Enforcement is based on what we can see: account, billing and team activity, and reports from others.
